One Long Day in Wien! (Vienna)

The ticket machines for the subway had an English translation option...it made me laugh. It seems like such a stereotypical Eastern European speaking English accent.

First thing in the morning we went to the Cathedral Church of St. Stephan...it was beautiful!

This picture shows how dark it actually was inside.

Vienna Opera House

A Mozart memorial, with a small part of the Habsburg palace in the background.

A marching band played music in the Habsburg palace courtyard.

We ate brunch at the famous Cafe Central.

It was interesting to see "anti-capitalism" propaganda. You'd never see that in America. I saw it a few times throughout my time in Europe.

On this day I got really sick...when I was starting to feel my worst we stumbled upon a gay pride parade, which was very loud...I was not in the mood to enjoy this in the slightest.

A very loud float full of people. They were blasting techno music, waiting for the parade to start.

This was one of the main shopping streets. Not even shopping could make me feel better though, and I retired back to the hostel early. I had a good, long night's sleep. The next day was spent (8 hours) on a train back to Bregenz, so it was some good recovery time for me. A couple days later I felt all better. Two weeks later I found out I had strep throat, and a sinus infection.
Vienna was a very pretty city, but I did not see much. Partly because I was sick, and partly because seeing anything cost at least 10 Euro. I liked Salzburg more.
