A beautiful morning at Our Chalet

International swaps! I wish I had brought something to exchange!
The American room. The furniture was donated by Girl Scouts of America and dates back to the early 1900s, when Our Chalet was built.
 American room.
Below is the dining hall/craft area! All of the wood is original to the early 1900s.
The Tea Room. A good place to relax, surf the internet, and wait on laundry!
All of the rooms were named after mountains visible from the chalet. My room: Nuenihorn!
It was a wonderfully comfortable and quaint room! At Our Chalet, no one receives a key to their room, because the doors do not lock. There has never been a need for rooms to be locked.
Below is a picture that was hanging in my room of Nuenihorn Mtn itself!
This is the view from my window!
Our Chalet is full of patches, gifts, and handiwork from scouts/guides all over the world!
This pin map shows where overnight visitors this year have come from!
The view from the "back yard."
The town of Adelboden can be seen below (I walked from way down there!).
A ding-a-ling cow! They mow the grass at Our Chalet.

The old building, the original Our Chalet.

The newer chalet (built within the past ten years I think). My room and the check in office was in this building.
Before leaving, I went for a little walk further up the mountain.
I found a hiking path...look at how steep the mountains are!
There are really some beautiful trees here! And they are so big!
I am so glad I got to visit Our Chalet to enjoy both Girl Scouty stuff and to enjoy the Alps outdoors! I miss it already and hope to return some day!
